Nancy and I will be in Bologna from mid-November to mid-February.
We will be staying in a B&B-like apartment near the city center.
Here is our address, in case you care to write to us there:
Charles Turner and Nancy Rexford
Bijou House Bologna
Via de' Castagnoli 2,
40126 Bologna BO, Italy
We will be very close to the opera house/concert hall, and we plan go to operas and concerts. There are also museums, art galleries, historic churches, and nice places to walk. Bologna is known for its university and for its food. More about that later.

I am going to be taking viola lessons while I am in Bologna, and I am excited about that.

Our email will work in Italy, obviously, and Google Fi has promised that our cell phones will work there 'just the way they do in the US.' I am not sure how international calls will be handled, but text messages should work fine. We shall see! Our landlady has insisted that we use WhatsApp to communicate with her, so we now both have WhatsApp.
We plan to hang around Bologna a lot, but we also will be traveling some of the time. Ravenna is high on our list, and Nancy really wants to go back to Rome. One of the reasons we picked Bologna is that it is the train hub of Italy. We can get to a lot of places easily from Bologna.
If you are interested in Bologna, we discovered a very nice English-language blog about being there on foot. Paul, the writer, talks about interesting bits of Bologna lore that you might otherwise miss. Here is the link: pauls-bologna.blog
That should be enough to get you started. Welcome to our blog!
