Charles and Nancy in Italy

A Christmas Day miscellany

We don't have a lot of news; we have been doing a lot of walking in the part of Bologna that is within the old city walls. It is interesting how the atmosphere changes once we get away from the university area: fewer bookshops and tiny food places, more upscale shops and stores. The city is somewhat decorated for Christmas, though I am told that it has been toned down to save energy costs this year.

I am posting a bunch of unrelated photos below.

Finally catching up on all the reports from this adventure. I so like hearing about the music, the lessons, concerts, operas, and the museums of music. I'd like to be there to hear Charles whistle what he reads of the old manuscripts.
So glad the food is so varied and good. Yes, it is hard to hear about, but it really only makes me long for a similar long visit.
Beautiful VERY cold Christmas day here. How is the cold there? I know that was one goal- to find a warmer place to spend the winter months.
Arlie is here for a week which is great. His girlfriend managed to get here in spite of the airline chaos. I forget how mild and composed my life usually is until some tornadoes of young people blow in.
Hope that Gerrit's new job in Canada is working out OK. And maybe a move across borders?
Keep up these lovely insights into that special world. Loved the church bells.

Thanks for reading, Kiki. Our visit would be even better if you were here to share the art and food with us. Charles
